Privacy Policy

Clients: your name, email, mobile number, how you like to be contacted, pickup and drop-off addresses, flight numbers, how many people and bags are coming, the type of car seat each child needs (not their names or ages), notes you add, messages with your driver, and your ride history. For work trips, the company name and billing address you give us for invoices.

Drivers: your name, email, mobile number, town, date of birth, license state, car details and plate, photos of your license, insurance card, registration and car, your fee plan, rides and earnings, and the result of your background check.

Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number goes straight to Stripe and never touches our servers. We see only the amount, the date and the last four digits.

Usage: simple counts, like how many people opened the app or finished a booking, so we can improve it. These counts are not tied to you.

Location: we never track clients. Drivers share their location with SteadyRides admins only while they're on duty, so the office can see who is nearest and where each ride is. We keep only each driver's latest position, never a history, and delete it when they go off duty. Navigation buttons open Google Maps or Apple Maps, which have their own privacy policies.

• To book, schedule and complete your rides, and to send ride updates the way you asked.
• To take payments, give refunds and send receipts and invoices.
• To check that drivers are qualified, insured and safe, and to pay them.
• To see where on-duty drivers are, so the office can plan rides and help in an emergency.
• To keep your account secure, answer questions and settle disputes.
• To give referral and loyalty rewards.

We don't send marketing messages unless you ask for them.

• Your driver sees what they need for your ride: your name, mobile number, pickup and drop-off, flight, party size, car seats and notes. They see it only for rides they've taken.
• Clients see their driver's name, mobile number, car and plate.
• SteadyRides admins see bookings, accounts and driver documents to run the service. Driver documents are only ever seen by admins.
• Companies that run parts of the app for us, only to provide their service and never to use for themselves: [Stripe for payments, Supabase for the database, Vercel for hosting, Google Maps for maps, an email service for sign-in codes and receipts, and a background check company for drivers].
• The law: if we're legally required to, for example by a court order.

That's everyone. We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.

• No passwords to steal: you sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Codes expire after 10 minutes.
• Everything is encrypted between your phone and our servers, and stored encrypted.
• Each account only reaches its own information. Drivers can't see other drivers' rides or any client's full history.
• Driver documents are kept in private storage that only admins can open.

No system is perfect. If we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

• Your account details: until you delete your account.
• Ride records, receipts and invoices: as long as tax law requires [7 years], then deleted.
• Driver documents: while you drive with us, and [3 years] after, in case of an insurance claim.
• Driver applications that aren't approved: [1 year].

You can see your details under Account, and ask us for a copy of everything we have about you, or to correct it. You can delete your account in the app at any time: Account, then Delete account. We remove your personal details right away, except ride records we must keep for taxes, which are deleted when that period ends.

Connecticut residents have rights under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act. We give these choices to everyone, wherever you live. To ask, email [rides@example.com]. We'll answer within 45 days.

Accounts are for adults 18 and older. Children ride with a parent or guardian who books for them. We record only the type of car seat each child needs.

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
